Patricia Blackburn

President, Director and Principal Broker

Ms. Blackburn’s responsibility is to direct the asset and multi-family property management functions, Gates Hudson Services (Gates Hudson’s construction management company), Gates Hudson Community Management (our Association management company), and Gates Hudson Realty. Patricia has 25 years experience in acquisition due diligence, renovation and management of investment properties. She is Gates Hudson’s principal broker licensed in VA, DC and MD. Patricia served as the 1996 President of AOBA, served on the National Advisory Council of BOMA, and was Vice President and Director of multi-family operations for the Mark Winkler Company.

Mr. Schneider's primary responsibility is to direct the property management and leasing functions for Gates Hudson's commercial portfolio. Mr. Schneider has 25 years of experience in the evaluation, acquisition, renovation and management of investment properties in the Washington D.C. Metropolitan Area. Mr. Schneider has an undergraduate Degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering and a Master of Science Degree in Real Estate and Urban Economics, both from the University of Wisconsin - Madison.

Chief Financial Officer

Ms. Kaplon is primarily responsible for the financial management of the company and oversees all accounting operations. Ms. Kaplon has over 25 years experience in accounting, auditing, and financial management, including over 10 years in the real estate industry. Ms. Kaplon was formerly an audit manager for the "Big 4" accounting firm of Deloitte & Touche, focusing on real estate audits and internal control review. Prior to joining the Gates Hudson team, Ms. Kaplon was Senior Director of Investor Accounting for Sunrise Senior Living Management, Inc. with oversight of GAAP and HUD audits, and owner accounting and reporting for over 400 properties and 30 development projects. Ms. Kaplon graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a BS in Accounting and has been a resident of Northern Virginia for over 18 years.

Steven R. Larimer

Senior Vice President, Director of Operations & Asset Management

Mr. Larimer has 29 years of property management experience, with operations and asset management responsibility for the performance of Gates Hudson's residential portfolio in Virginia, Maryland, and the District of Columbia. He is also responsible for property level real estate tax review, responding to tax assessments as necessary and overseeing tax appeal issues. Previously Mr. Larimer was Vice President of Residential Property management with full day-to-day responsibility for the Gates Hudson residential portfolio. His prior property management experience includes management of Class A, B, and C properties in three different geographic regions including Iowa, Alabama, and Texas. Mr. Larimer holds a Certified Property Manager (CPM) designation from the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM), and has also received the Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) accreditation through the CCIM Institute, an affiliate of the National Association of Realtors. He is a member of the Apartment and Office Building Association and the Property Management Association. Mr. Larimer was an appointed member of the Fairfax County Tenant-Landlord Commission, where he served for five years from 2000 to 2005. He received a B.A. in Communications from St. Ambrose College in Davenport, Iowa.

Mr. Khan has been in the industry for over 20 years. Mr. Khan’s career in Property Management began with Gates Hudson in 1995. However, he re-joined Gates Hudson as Regional Manager in August of 2001 having spent the prior 5 years with Pinnacle Realty as Business Manager. As Regional Manager, Mr. Khan oversaw several property types and classes A, B and C in Maryland, Virginia and DC. Mr. Khan is experienced in acquisitions, dispositions, re-positioning, and lease-ups, in both high-rise and garden style communities. He is well versed in all management responsibilities and physical plant maintenance. Mr. Khan is currently responsible for overseeing 31 properties encompassing over 6800 units in the Northern Virginia/DC area. This includes all property management level staffing needs and daily functions. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from Johnson and Wales University, in Rhode Island with a Bachelor of Commerce (BCOM) Degree in Finance and Accounting. He holds a Certified Property Manager (CPM) designation from the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM).

Sheila Jones, Vice President, has more than 25 years of progressively responsible experience directing as many as 6,000 employees in companies with revenues in excess of $100 million. Sheila has led these communities through start-up, turnaround and growth modes. She has managed class A and B properties and specializes in value-add communities. She is an Accredited Assisted Housing Manager to include HUD Assisted Low Income Housing, Housing Choice Voucher and Low Income Tax Credit. Sheila began her career in Property Management as a leasing consultant in 1985 with Grady Management out of Silver Spring, Maryland. She has spent 15 years as a Regional Property Manager and Area Manager in locations along the Eastern United States from Wilmington, Delaware to Richmond, Virginia. Among her significant previous positions, Sheila serves as a member of AOBA and PMA. As Vice President, Sheila is responsible for all operations related to residential management and oversees approximately 4,000 units in Maryland, Washington, D.C. and Virginia. Sheila has been involved in the development, lease-up and stabilization of underperforming assets in Prince Georges County since 2005. Under her guidance, many innovative processes were put in place to improve communities to include health education, financial planning and partnering with Prince Georges County Leadership Team in developing Transforming Neighborhoods Initiative.

Jennifer Paige has 15 years property management experience with expertise in the management of the overall management of the operations of portfolios in Virginia, Maryland and District of Columbia. She is responsible for management of Class A,B and C properties and has had extensive lease up experience as both a Property Manager and Regional Manager. Ms. Paige holds a Certified Apartment Manager (CAM) designation from National Apartment Association and was recently elected to the NVAA Board of Directors.

Mr. Douglas has over 11 years of property management experience in Class A, B and C properties in Virginia, Maryland, Washington D.C. and Pennsylvania. Previously he worked at Apartment Investment Management Company (NYSE: AIV) before joining Gates Hudson. Mr. Douglas obtained his Certified Apartment Portfolio Supervisor (CAPS) accreditation from the National Apartment Association (NAA) and graduated from Washington College in 2005 with a B.A. in Business Management.

Ms. Rawlings joined Gates Hudson in 2004 and has over 13 years experience in property management. She attended Old Dominion University and returned to the Washington DC area in 2002, where she has held a number of positions in varying aspects of the industry from Director of Marketing, Property Manager, Community Manager and most recently Regional Manager for 15 properties in Northern Virginia. She is actively involved with industry associations including Property Management Association (PMA), Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) and Northern Virginia Apartment Association (NVAA). She has served on several committees with both PMA and NVAA. Ms. Rawlings holds an Accredited Residential Manager ® (ARM) designation through the Institute of Real Estate Management and is a Certified Property Manager® (CPM) Candidate. Ms. Rawlings excels at analyzing sub markets, financial reporting, evaluating asset performance, team building, property inspections, mentoring/coaching team members and vendor/contract negotiations.

He attended Northern Virginia Community College and began working in the Washington DC market in 2004, where he has held a number of varying positions in the industry from Leasing Consultant, Leasing Manager, Bookkeeper, Assistant Property Manager, Property Manager and most recently Regional Manager for 5 properties in Prince Georges County. Ms. Stewart joined Gates Hudson in 2011, and served the role of Sr. Property Manager for our 2nd largest asset in the company. She brings over 20 years experience successfully managing type A lease up communities including high rise & mixed used developments to Gates Hudson. Previously , Ms. Stewart worked for real estate investment trust (REITS) Post Properties ( NYSE: PPS ) for 17 years in the Florida region overseeing new construction lease ups before joining Gates Hudson. Kimberly currently oversees the management and leasing operations of type A & B developments in the northern VA markets. Ms. Stewart specializes in financial reporting, budget preparation, evaluating asset & team performances . She is currently a Certified Property Manager (CMP) Candidate designated through the Institute of Real Estate Management. She is also a 2014 Leadership Award Recipient for Gates Hudson for team mentoring.

Mr. Shaginaw comes to Gates Hudson with over 9 years of experience managing apartment communities ranging in size and type having worked with residences in Virginia and West Virginia to include stabilized, new acquisition, and lease up properties. He has overseen several renovation projects and been vital to many due diligence teams. Prior to Gates Hudson, Mr. Shaginaw worked with Archstone, managing residential communities in the northern Virginia area. He graduated from Virginia Tech with a degree in property management, and received a certified apartment manager designated from the National Apartment Association.

Ms. Zingg joined Gates Hudson in 2017. She brings over 20 years of property management experience in the Seattle, San Diego, and Phoenix markets. As Regional Property Manager, she is responsible for overseeing Class A, B, and C properties in Virginia, Washington DC, Prince George County MD, and West Virginia. Prior to Gates Hudson, she worked for Avalon Bay, Michaels Organization, and Lincoln Military Housing. For Lincoln, Ms. Zingg managed properties on three military bases and worked with regional leaders to develop, mentor, and lead multi-functional teams. She holds a CDPM from IREM. In addition to her real estate industry experience, she served her country as a U.S. Marine in The Gulf War. Ms. Zingg is working toward her Bachelor of Business Administration from American Military University.

Mr. Handwerk joined Gates Hudson in 2015. He brings over 9 years of property management experience in Class A, B, and C properties in Northern Virginia. He quickly stabilized occupancy as Property Manager for one of the largest assets and lease-ups within the company. He specializes in contract negotiation, operations, and team building. Prior to joining Gates Hudson, he worked for Gables Residential and Stellar Management in Fairfax County (VA) where he held several managerial positions, including resident services manager, assistant property manager, and property manager. Mr. Handwerk is a graduate of George Mason University (History and Business).

Mr. Hiebing comes to Gates Hudson with over 5 years of property management experience, with operations and asset management responsibility of Gates Hudson’s residential portfolio in Virginia, Maryland, West Virginia, and the District of Columbia. He is also responsible for property level real estate tax analysis, and identifying tax appeal analysis. He also is responsible for providing in depth analysis for new target acquisitions on behalf of our investors, and ensuring assets perform as expected. Mr. Hiebing previously provided financial analysis for Tax Credit, 50059 (HUD), and ADU properties in Virginia, DC, and Maryland. He received his degree in Economics and Finance from George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia.

Ms. Kiley has over twenty seven years experience in all facets of Real Estate, Property Management and Operations Management. She specializes in personnel management, organizational analysis, and systems development. Ms. Kiley attained the company's Accredited Association Management Company (AAMC) designation from the Community Associations Institute (CAI) which demonstrates Gates Hudson Community Management's commitment to ensuring that the staff has the skills, experience, and integrity to help communities succeed. She is a Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA), an Association Management Specialist (AMS), and a Professional Community Association Manager (PCAM). She is a Certified Analyst with the AVA Presidents Program, Bizet Human Asset Management, and is a member of both CAI and the Property Management Association (PMA). Ms. Kiley holds the Certified Property Manager (CPM) Executive title for Gates Hudson Community Management's Accredited Management Organization (AMO) certification with the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM). She is a member of IREM Chapter 8 in DC and is the 2010 Past Chapter President. She is currently serving on the Board of Directors as Director of Strategic Planning. Ms. Kiley received a Bachelors of Science in Business and obtained Dual Masters Degrees in Technology Management and Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Maryland. Ms. Kiley holds a Salesperson license in the state of Maryland and the District of Columbia.

Mr. Massey has an extensive background in Accounting with more than twenty years of experience. He is responsible for the overall functioning of the Accounting Department, including the company's internal controls, financial statement reporting and cash management. Mr. Massey provides hands-on training classes to Board Members on "How to Read and Understand Your Association's Financial Statement." Mr. Massey has spent the majority of his career supervising accounting personnel, constructing and instituting efficient in-house policies and procedures, creating appropriate checks and balances, and effectively servicing Board clients with top level customer service. Prior to joining the Gates Hudson Community Management team he was the Senior Accountant for a large developer in Northern Virginia. Mr. Massey is a member of the Institute of Management Accountants and the Community Association Institute (CAI). He is a Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA) and an Association Management Specialist (AMS). Mr. Massey received a Bachelors of Science in Accounting from North Carolina A&T State University and a Master's of Science in Accounting from Bloomsburg University.

Mr. Hirschman is a member of the Community Association Institute (CAI), and currently serves on CAI's DC and Maryland Legislative Action Committees. As a member of the executive management team, he is responsible for the vision of the company and is involved in all aspects of the Gates Hudson philosophy, including maintaining relationships with present clients and future growth planning for the company. Mr. Khan is a Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA), an Association Management Specialist (AMS) and a Professional Community Association Manager (PCAM). Prior to joining the Gates Hudson team in 2002, Mr. Khan worked in Sales and Marketing for property developers. Mr. Eglin has fifteen years of multi-family and community association management experience. Prior to community association management, Mr. Eglin worked for three years in the apartment industry at high-rises in Falls Church and Arlington, Virginia. Upon moving to community association management twelve years ago, Mr. Eglin engaged in the business of managing a condominium community and immediately began working on achieving his designations. Mr. Eglin obtained his Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA) designation, became an active member of the Community Associations Institute on the Virginia Legislative Action Committee, and has obtained his Association Management Specialists (AMS) designation. Mr. Eglin holds a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education from Radford University with a concentration in Sports Medicine.

Mr. Lyons has eight years of experience in the community management industry. He specializes in portfolio management which consists mostly of condominium and HOA communities in the Northern Virginia area. He is responsible for the oversight of projects, financial conditions, daily operations, and development of portfolio managers. Mr. Lyons is a member of the Community Association Institute (CAI) and has obtained both the Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA) and Association Management Specialist (AMS) designations. Mr. Morrison has over 30 years of experience in Commercial, Multi-Family Residential and Community Association Management. He brings vast knowledge of operations management, budget preparation, contract negotiations and excellent customer service skills to an already experienced community management team. Mr. Morrison supervises the Prince William County satellite office as well as approximately 1,000 total homes comprised of both HOA and Condominium communities. He is also responsible for supervising and facilitating the efforts of three other managers within the organization. Mr. Morrison has received customer service training from two of the highest regarded customer service training programs in the country: the Ritz Carlton Training Program and the Walt Disney Service Training Program. He is a Certified Housing Specialist and a member of the Community Association Institute (CAI), holding both the Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA) and Association Management Specialist (AMS) designations. He has a Master's Degree in Communications and a CAS in Education Administration from Syracuse University.

Mr. Ramirez-de-Arellano brings over 31 years of experience in the hospitality/customer service industry. Mr. Ramirez-de-Arellano worked for over 18 years in the hotel industry; where he managed hotels in the United States and Europe before becoming the Global Corporate Director of Training for Swissotels. In 2003 he made the transition to Property Management where he managed and oversaw three new condominium developments. He served as the General Manager for them until the homeowner’s association took over. In 2008, he joined Gates Hudson in the Commercial Division where he was the Director of Tenant Services for the entire commercial portfolio. In 2012, Mr. Ramirez-de-Arellano then joined Gates Hudson Community Management as a Community Manager at a luxury high-rise condominium in Washington, D.C. Mr. Ramirez-de-Arellano was recently promoted to Senior Portfolio Manager. Mr. Ramirez-de-Arellano has a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a double minor in Psychology and French. Mr. Ramirez-de-Arellano is fluent in English, Spanish, French and proficient in Italian, Portuguese and German

Ms. Walter primarily oversees the day-to-day operations of the entire Accounting Department and is a key resource in the compilation and implementation of internal policies and procedures. She possesses hands-on experience in all facets of Gates Hudson Community Management Accounting policy and thus is instrumental in training and mentoring all staff to ensure quality control. She also works closely with the CFO on special projects such as large-scale loan processing and special assessment administration. Ms. Walter joined the company in 2008 and brought a wealth of knowledge from her prior employment with another community association management firm. Her professional background and her remarkable attention to detail are key to our success in smoothly and efficiently onboarding all new clients - transitions for which she has personally overseen since 2009. Ms. Walter is a member of the Community Associations Institute (CAI) and is both a Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA) and an Association Management Specialist (AMS). She is a George Mason University Alumna and additionally holds a Certificate in Accounting from the University of California at Berkeley.

Ms. Timonere has more than nine years of experience in property management with Gates Hudson Community Management. She is responsible for ensuring all employees can provide excellent customer service by giving them the information, tools and training they need to be successful. Prior to joining the corporate office team, she managed a variety of condominium associations in Washington, D.C. ranging from a new construction small boutique property to larger properties with unique amenities and management needs. She is a member of the Community Associations Institute (CAI). Ms. Timonere graduated from Otterbein University in Ohio with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications and minors in Public Relations and Political Science.

Ms. Fisher serves as a liaison between Gates Hudson Community Management and its clients, ensuring excellent customer service and client satisfaction. She is responsible for managing client relationships, preparing proposals for new business, and overseeing the company involvement with industry events and education. Ms. Fisher works with the Community Management team in order to motivate members to provide the highest level of customer service. She is a member of the Community Associations Institute (CAI). Prior to joining the Community Management team in 2013, Ms. Fisher worked several years in Multi-Family Residential. Ms. Fisher received a Bachelor of Science degree in Family Science from the University of Maryland.

Joseph P. Schechtel

Joseph P. Schechtel

Senior Vice-President

Mr. Schechtel is responsible for all service lines within Gates Hudson’s commercial division, which include property management, facility management, agency leasing, tenant representation and investment sales. Mr. Schechtel has over 25 years of experience in commercial real estate and joined the Gates Hudson team in 2009. Since then, he and his team have managed a commercial property portfolio of 4 million square feet, produced a leasing transaction volume of over $800 million and assisted clients with either the acquisition or disposition of real estate assets valued at over $1.5 billion. Prior to joining Gates Hudson, Mr. Schechtel was with Cushman & Wakefield for twelve years where he most recently served as Director of Asset Services for its Washington, DC and Baltimore Metropolitan markets. He received a Bachelor of Science Degree from Virginia Tech and has completed graduate coursework in real estate at the Gund School of Design, Harvard University.

Ms. Bloom joined Gates Hudson in 2017. She brings over 10 years of commercial property management experience, starting as a property administrator. As Property Manager, she now manages a portfolio of office, retail, and medical buildings (some of which are owner-occupied) through the Washington DC metro area. Prior to Gates Hudson, she worked for Paramount Group, JLL, and Atlantic Realty. She earned her Real Property Administrator designation (BOMIRPA) and her LEED Green Associate designation through the U.S. Green Building Council. She is also a licensed salesperson in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Ms. Kumar joined Gates Hudson in 1994. She brings over 20 years of agency and tenant representation leasing experience. As Senior Leasing Agent, she oversees a portfolio of office, retail, and medical properties on behalf of various property owners. She works in close collaboration with her clients, the property management teams, and tenant brokers. Prior to Gates Hudson, she worked in public relations for Mobil Oil Corp. and Environmental Science Engineering (ESE). She is a licensed salesperson in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Ms. Kumar a graduate of the George Mason University (Communications).

Melissa E. Terry

Property Manager

Ms. Terry joined Gates Hudson in 2014. As Commercial Property Manager, she oversees four office buildings and one retail property in Alexandria VA plus retail for three mixed-use properties in Arlington VA. Her specialties are comprehensive sustainability and energy efficiency. She began her property management career as administrator for a 461,484 SF LEED Gold Premier Trophy property near the U.S. Capitol Building. Her certifications will soon include the High-Performance Building Program (BOMI-HP), Certified Property Manager (BOMI-CPM), and Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional (LEED-AP). Ms. Terry is a graduate of Penn State University (Finance).

Mr. Moshos is responsible for all operational aspects of GHA Services, including project and facilities management, engineering services, energy management, project renovation, business development and customer service. Mr. Moshos brings over 20 years of experience in the construction industry. Prior to joining GHA Services, he was president of J&M of Northern Virginia, specializing in landscape construction and design. During his tenure with J&M, Mr. Moshos has also served in many capacities with Gates Hudson ranging from Senior Project Manager to construction management consultant for many large renovation projects. Mr. Moshos attended George Mason University and currently holds a Virginia real estate license as well as a Virginia Class A Contractor's license.

Mr. Barton has over 20 years of property management experience. Mr. Barton's primary responsibilities include oversight of all utility and energy management programs within the Gates Hudson portfolio. Utility management programs include deregulated utility purchasing, energy auditing, utility budgeting and resident billing oversight. Mr. Barton is a Certified Energy Manager (CEM) and a member of the Association of Energy Engineers. Mr. Barton received a Bachelor of Science Degrees in Communications and Psychology from James Madison University.

Ms. Sonneville is primarily responsible for general brokerage operations, business development, marketing, sales as well as education and training for GHA Realty. Formerly Director of Marketing for Gates Hudson for six years, Ms. Sonneville brings to GHA Realty an extensive real estate background covering a 31+ year period. In 2012, GHA Realty managed by Ms. Sonneville sold $8M in luxury homes for a portfolio Owner within an eight months. Prior to Gates Hudson, Ms. Sonneville was a Sr. Strategic Marketing Analyst for Pulte Homes, a #1 ranked National Home Builder, where she wrote feasibility studies, provided marketing plans for start-up communities, performed focus groups and trained Sales Associates on the CMA process. Ms. Sonneville received an AS in Management/ Merchandising and a BBA in Management/ Marketing from Averett University in Danville, Virginia. She also received GBI (Graduate of Builder's Institute) and CMP (Certified Marketing Professional) designations and is currently a Broker candidate.

Ms. Lowe has over 30 years of experience in the multi-family industry. She has established and implemented a training program that focuses on providing Gates Hudson employees with tools that will foster and enrich their ongoing professional development, while enhancing their value to Gates Hudson’s clients. Prior to that she was intimately involved in all aspects of multi-family housing, and was responsible for overseeing and leading teams as a Property Manager, Regional Manager, and Director. A graduate from Virginia Tech University, Ms. Lowe is a member and active participant on the VA Tech Property Management Advisory Board.

Ms. Rodich now uses her over 30 years of property management experience to train residential site staff on all software systems and to write and ensure compliance with policies and procedures. Before moving to the training and education team Ms. Rodich managed A, B and C class properties both on-site and as a regional manager. Ms. Rodich holds the Tax Credit Compliance certification (TaCCs®) and is a certified Mixed Finance Trainer for LIHTC properties.

Ms. Johnson joined Gates Hudson in 2012. She brings nearly 20 years of hospitality, media, sales, and marketing experience. As a member of the Education and Training team, she assists in the implementation of company policies, technical support for Yardi systems (Voyager, RENTCafe, CRM), market research and analysis, personalized coaching of large sales teams, and execution of workshops in customer relationship management. In 2017, she helped Gates Hudson to raise its overall customer performance score by 9% (Ellis Traditional Multifamily Industry Benchmark). Prior to Gates Hudson, she was a regional marketing manager at Fairfield Residential (metro Washington DC), a general manager at Caviness & Cates Property Management, and a property manager at Weber Properties (both of Fayetteville, NC). She holds the highest designations from the National Apartment Association as Certified National Apartment Leasing Manager (NALP), Certified Apartment Manager (CAM), and Certified Apartment Property Supervisor (CAPS). Ms. Johnson is a graduate of the Latin American University of Science & Technology (Marketing).

With 15 years experience in property management, Ms. Galtarossa provides analytical support in pricing decisions for Gates Hudson’s portfolio of quality apartment communities located in Virginia, Maryland, and the District of Columbia. As Revenue Management Analyst she provides research, analysis, and pricing recommendations to property managers and portfolio executives. As member of Education and Training Department of Gates Hudson, Ms. Galtarossa assists in training and provides technical support for Yardi Systems products - Voyager, RENTCafe, and PopCard for residential corporate and on-site staff. Prior to joining Gates Hudson in 2013, Ms. Galtarossa was an Assistant Director of Residential Portfolio at A.J. Dwoskin & Associates, Inc. Ms. Galtarossa holds a Certified Property Manager (CPM) designation from the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) and is affiliate of the National Association of Realtors.

Mr. Gilbert brings extensive marketing experience within the multifamily real estate industry, including sales, training, technology, social media, brand reputation, internet advertising, web 2.0 strategies and execution. Prior to joining Gates Hudson, Steve led marketing efforts for Greystar - responsible for marketing, advertising and new business development for 22,000 A/B/C asset class apartment homes in the Northeast Region of the United States, including multiple lease-up communities within some of the nation's most competitive high barrier to entry markets. Prior to joining Greystar, Steve served as Vice President of Marketing and Training for Mission Residential - a boutique real estate management company specialized in value-add acquisitions totaling over 14,000 apartment homes throughout Texas and Southeast United States. Prior to joining Mission, Steve worked at AvalonBay Communities, Inc. where he contributed to an award winning multifamily focused cyber-marketing campaign. He holds a B.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing from the Kogod School of Business at American University in Washington, DC.

Mr. Ford manages the company's interactive projects and websites as well as online marketing, social media and web strategy. Before joining Gates Hudson Mr. Ford was Co-Founder and COO of RentAdvisor, a leading national reputation management and lead generation platform for multifamily operators and renters. Before then Jonathan was a Director then Vice President at Primedia (now RentPath) responsible for interactive product development including ApartmentGuide.com, RealEstate.com and NewHomeGuide.com.

Prior to Gates Hudson, Mr. Karam worked with Avalon Bay Communities, managing residential communities in the Washington, DC area. In addition, he managed social media content, spearheaded guerilla marketing campaigns, created innovative resident event strategies and helped to advance the “AVA” brand concept. Mr. Karam graduated Magna Cum Laude from Virginia Tech in 2008 with a degree in Property Management and minors in Real Estate and Spanish. In addition, he received a Certified Apartment Manager designation from the National Apartment Association, served as President of the Student Association of Residential Property Managers and was a member of Sigma Delta Pi, the National Collegiate Hispanic Honor Society.

Ms. Coogle joined Gates Hudson in 2017. She brings over 10 years of property management experience. As Marketing Manager, she oversees the marketing efforts of a diverse portfolio of nearly 30 Class A, B and C properties. She is responsible for media plans, signage, creative communication pieces, promotional materials, effective outreach, websites, social media, online reputation, and curb appeal. Prior to Gates Hudson, Ms. Coogle was Regional Marketing Manager for Kettler (South Carolina and Washington DC) and Marketing Manager for Brookland Press. Ms. Coogle received the PMA Marketing and Advertising Excellence Award for Best Promotional Item, Lease Up (2016) and won the Apartment Internet Marketing (AIM) Conference “Be a Newbie No More” contest (2016). Ms. Coogle is a graduate of The University of Georgia (Theatre and Film Studies).

Mr. Townsend joined Gates Hudson in 2017. He brings 25 years of international marketing experience. He handles visual design (websites, ads, logos), copywriting, reputation management, social media publishing, and email marketing. Prior to Gates Hudson, he served as both creative director and director of business development for two Washington DC advertising agencies (Zinc, 1999-2003 and SQN Branding, 2004-05) and ran his own practice (2006-2016). His projects in real estate and the building industry include Sotheby’s (2010), Keller Williams (2014), RLJ (Bob Johnson’s REIT, 2006), Leo A Daly Architects (1998-99), American Institute of Architects (1999-2003), Bovis LendLease (1998-2000), The National Building Museum (1999), and Latista (2012-14). Mr. Townsend has partnered with executives to strengthen 20 brands aged 75 to 275 years (Pfizer, Absolut Vodka, Universal Music Group, and American Red Cross to name four). He has been recognized for excellence by The Webbys, American Marketing Association, The Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS), The Service Industry Advertising Awards (the SIAAs), PR Week magazine, Washington Business Journal, Northern Virginia Technology Council, and Kickstarter. In his spare time, he authors “small books” (20+ to date) and mentors rising marketers through the Everwise program (San Francisco). Mr. Townsend is a graduate of the University of Richmond (Fine Arts and Art History).

Mr. Murphy's primary responsibilities include managing all aspects of the company's information management systems. With 8 years experience as a regional property manager, Mr. Murphy brings a unique experience to the Gates Hudson team. His understanding of the core business is critical when implementing technologies for our clients. During his tenure at Gates Hudson, Mr. Murphy served as Vice President for MeterCOM and 21 RealCOM, providing management and technical expertise to both companies. Mr. Murphy has 33 years in the property management industry with the last 25 years in the Gates Hudson family. Mr. Murphy holds a BA in Journalism from the University of Texas at Austin.

Ms. Shukla is a 22 year property management and technology veteran responsible for the mission-critical information systems on which our company and clients depend. Most recently she led migration efforts from legacy platforms to Yardi 6 and subsequently 7S. She also educates team members on new capabilities & procedures and maintains security. Ms. Shukla was a founding member of the Jenark User Group Board and served as President for 3 terms. Ms. Shukla received a B.S. in Business Administration specializing in Marketing and Management from Virginia Tech.

Mr. Siah joined Gates Hudson in 2006. He brings over 10 years of experience in IT operations. As Network Engineer, he has an immaculate track record in handling infrastructure projects for the entire Gates Hudson portfolio. Responsibilities include oversight of all computer network, licensing, disaster recovery, physical and virtual infrastructure, database backup, and maximum uptime assurance for over 100+ networks and multiple WAN network environments. Mr. Siah is both Cisco Meraki and CompTIA certified.

Donna Kung is Gates Hudson’s Controller with the primary responsibility to oversee accounting and financial reporting for investors and lenders. Ms. Kung has 30 plus year’s property management accounting experience with a strong background in commercial property management and lease administration including Carr America and other property management companies. Ms. Kung has been a member of the Gates Hudson accounting management team for the past 10 years and has overseen as many as 12,000 residential units, 24 commercial buildings tenant leases and well over 3 million square feet of combined office, shopping center and office condominium buildings. Ms. Kung has an Accounting degree from Guildford College.

Ms. Evans joined Gates Hudson in 2017. She brings over 20 years of global human resources experience. She drives continuous HR and IT process improvements, aligns operations with business strategy, fosters positive work environments, and sets the stage for optimal productivity and returns on workforce investments. Ms. Evans helps employees to uphold organizational culture and find success through its mission. Prior to joining Gates Hudson, Ms. Evans served in the U.S. Navy as cryptologist and later EEO Investigator with the responsibility of conducting investigations into alleged misconduct ranging from discrimination to sexual harassment. Following her service, she worked as a human resources professional for several government contractors in the Washington DC area. She has served businesses with as few as 160 employees and $25MM in revenue as well as those with over 37,000 employees and $3B in revenue. She is a Certified Labor Relations Professional (CLRP) from Michigan State University and a member of the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM), World at Work, and The National Society of Collegiate Scholars. Ms. Evans is a graduate of George Mason University (Magna Cum Laude, Psychology).
